Merry Christmas!!

We had a wonderful christmas complete with family, great food, and family. I don't think you can get any closer to a perfect day than that. The day started with the usual breakfast at mom and dads and then was followed by some gift opening. Scott completely spoiled and suprised me by buying a professional chefs knife! I have wanted one for a long time but could never bring myself to spend the money. Now that I have been using it all day I can't believe I didn't get one a long time ago! I also got an awesome cook book and a chia indoor herb garden...nerdy I know but I thought it was awesome.

jack was spoiled by both grandparents as you can see...he loves this little walker thing! Jack loves snuggly things and puppies so scott and I got him this cute puppy from build-a-bear...now he has the best of both worlds!

I hope you all had a day filled with happiness and warmth...Merry Christmas!!

a quick note...

I just realized that I have it set so only those with google accounts can leave comments. I have changed that setting so now all of you who don't have google accounts can comment as you so desire.

7 weeks and counting!

For those of you who don't see me on a regular basis I thought I would fill you in on progress of our upcoming little one. I have seven weeks left until I am scheduled for C-section and I am looking forward to having this little girl here. I feel great but worn out. I have spent the last two weeks finishing my last semester of college and working 10 hours a day (no exaggeration there) since it is a busy time of year for UPS. I am looking forward to kind of relaxing for next little while until we get to meet this little ray of sunshine! I am measuring a little small and so is the baby but she appears to be healthy, which is all we really care about. I will keep you all posted as the weeks go on...but until then, enjoy the holidays!

something to brighten your day...

Jack is especially happy in the morning. If this doesn't put a smile on your face I don't know what will.

To a wonderful man...

I just walked in the door from work, a ten hour day actually which can drain any pregnant woman. I put Jack to bed and pause to notice that the house is clean, laundry is done, and everything is in perfect order. Sometimes I get caught up in the business of life, work, and school and forget to give credit to the man in my life that keeps me going. I have always known that scott Springer was an amazing man but sometimes I feel like I fail to give him the credit he truly deserves.
-I get a wonderful Backscratch and/or foot rub every night before bed...though that doesn't seem like much, it means the world to me after a long day on my feet.

-Scott does all the laundry in the house and actually the majority of "tidying".

-He is a wonderful father whose face always lights up to see his little guy jack. I work during the day so he has been playing "mom". Though I hate being away from my little guy I feel completely at ease knowing that they are home playing ball, and taking naps together on the bed.

- Scott can always put a smile on my face no matter what kind of day I am having.

-though he may come across as sort of a jokester, scott is an absolute softy.

I really could go on for ever about scott but I am sure many people are about to vomit. So to all of you wonderful husbands and fathers out there that do your best on a daily basis...props to you, know that the women in your life appreciate all you do!!

Tagged...

I have been tagged by my friend mac and so I guess I am supposed to tell you all 6 unusual things about myself. What I am about to share is pretty bizarre so brace yourself. If you have previously looked at me in a perfect light go ahead and visit the next blog on your list, if not then feel free to read ahead...enjoy
1. I am not sure at what point in my life I developed this odd habit, but I have a slight case of OCD. My body needs symmetry at all times which makes for some weird habits. Let me enlighten you...
- If one of my fingers or hands gets wet I have to get the other one wet
- I hate shoes that tie becuase I can never seem to get the same "tightness" on both feet.
- If I am walking up stairs or doing something where my muscles are being used I have to
use my muscles equally on each side... so when I pull a muscle or have a charlie horse you can imagine my anxiety
- I have been known to dip my dry foot in a puddle if I accidently step one foot in already.
- I am a weirdo when it comes to my hair being even on each side...ask my hair stylist julie, my hair cuts often have comments like this, "I think this side is a little longer." "this side feels a little thicker than this one"...sorry julie, I appreciate your patience.

scott knows about this oddity of mine and sometimes just to tease me he will come up to me and lick one of my cheeks, immediately I react by licking my finger and wiping it on my other cheek. When he playfully slaps my rear-end he knows that if he doesn't slap right in the middle he has to slap me on the other side to even things out.

This habit of mine doesn't interfere with my life and I rarely notice that I do it so those of you worried, don't be!

2. I have a secret fear of people that are severely handicap. When I was little we had a girl that lived next door who was handicapped and couldn't walk so she would crawl around. She also couldn't talk. As a small child imagine playing tag in the yard with a teenager who couldn't talk and crawled, and fast might I add. I know this is an irrational fear and to make me not seem like a horrible person to all reading this, you should know that to get over my fears I have spent plenty of time volunteering at the training school and peer tutoring the special needs kids.

3. I love food and love to cook, but I am a picky eater. I have never liked peppers, tomatoes, or onions and probably never will. I hate mexican food. I don't like the texture or taste of bananas and think they ruin a smoothie or fruit salad. I have never liked vegetables very much but am really trying to broaden my horizons with a new found love of cooking. I know this is all very childish and I know I am doomed to have a child who is even pickier than myself, but what can you do?!?

4. I am incredibly cheap. I rarely buy anything unless it is on sale or I know it is an amazing deal. I price compare everything at the store...and just so you all know sometimes more in the box doesn't mean it's cheaper!! I have the worst buyers remorse especially when it comes to clothing and accessories, which is why I just never buy! I am hoping that this "cheapness" of mine will subside a little as soon as scott and I are at a more stable financial point in our lives, but I highly doubt it will ever go away completely. I guess it really isn't the worst thing in the world either!

5. I absolutely have loved school and the excuse it gives me learn new things. I just graduated and I am really sad that I will no longer sit at the feet of amazing teachers on a daily basis soaking in all of their knowledge and experience.

6. I am a little kid when it comes to candy and sweet stuff. Every time I go to washington I take my nieces to this little candy store and let them pick out their favorite treats. though this make look like a cool aunt my motives are purely selfish...I just want an excuse to go and buy a pound of sour candy and not look like an idiot.

well there you have it everyone...I hope you enjoyed this rather long journey into my personal insanity. I now tag my sister amber, melody, emily and jessica crapo

Not bad for thirty bucks!!

I know the tree looks crooked...but it really isn't

For the last few years our christmas decor has consisted of a 2 foot tree with about 10 small ornaments and a 6 foot strand of lights becuase of the tiny apartment we lived in. This year however, we were able to go all out with a 6 foot tree. scott has been pumped all year to have a real tree but when I was at the beloved wal-mart today I found a pre-lit tree for 30 bucks...I don't even think you can buy the lights alone that cheap!! Honestly, was expecting a garbage tree with not many lights but when I got it home and set it up I was pleasantly surprised. After putting on the ornaments and ribbon I think it looks like any other run of the mill fake christmas tree.
Jack and I had a fun time decorating to surprise scott when he got home from work...I do think that jack took more off than he put on, that is why there are no ornaments on the lower branches.

christmas pet peeve

I have to start my saying that I love everything about the christmas season...I love shopping, parties, lights, decorations, music, etc, etc. Having said that I now have to let out a small complaint...What the heck is with FM 100 already playing all christmas music for?!? aren't there unspoken rules about christmas that nothing can happen until after thanksgiving? I walked into wal-mart earlier this week and it was as if christmas had vomited all over the place!! give me a break...we just finished halloween. I think the "holidays" are coming a little too early so I am playing scrooge's sdvocate and not turning on FM100 until afterthanksgiving...even though I do love my "soft sounds".

Happy Halloween!!

This year I finally decided to get with the program and dress jack up for halloween. He made for one spooky little skeleton.... We went trick-or-treating to all the local grandma's and got full of plenty of junk food. While I had night class scott took jack up to jills (Jill is max's cute girlfriend for those of you who don't know) to help scare all the kids who came trick-or-treating...if you look at the picture you can see what I mean! max and jill spent hours getting ready for tonight. If you look closely you will see that max actually has "ribs" coming out of his side.

Happy Fall Y'all!!

Fall is one of my favorite times of year. I thought I would make a short list of a few of my favorite things:

1. The way the air smells crisp and clean

2. The way the mountains and landscape start to change colors

3. Pumpkin anything...candles, cookies, pie, decorations- you name it, I enjoy it

4. Warm clothes- though I am not really a shopper and don't buy much I sure love a cute sweater or jacket

5. Turning the heater on for the first time...it is so cozy!

6. This year it means I am entering my third trimester...yipee!!

7. Jackson loves the falling leaves, and anything that makes him smile makes me smile.
8. Fall means lots of holidays- and I always love an excuse for tons of good food and family to visit

the great escape...

I just had to blog this becuase it was so funny. Last night scott and I were chatting in our living room and when I couldn't hear the silly squeals of jack playing I knew some thing must be wrong. I looked behind me and I could see that he had gotten himself stuck in the middle of one of our bar stools. I don't know how he wiggled his way in there, but he couldn't figure our how to free himself. I went to get him out and scott said "hold on a sec...lets see if he can figure it out" so we sat back and watched while silently laughing as jack tried to free himself. He honestly tried to get out the this position for 15 minutes before my pregnant bladder couldn't take any more laughter and we had to free him. What a trooper!!

Scott was trying to coax him out with a cany corn pumpkin

Fun in Farm land!

Scotts little brother randy visited last week with his cute little family and of course no utah vacation is complete without a visit to thanksgiving point. Jack loves the animals and calls anything with 4 legs a "dogee". He laughed and laughed on the pony ride...I can't believe how old he is now, my little boy all grown up on a horse!!

The boutique

Though I probably have way too much going on right now, I decided to join scotts sisters and open up a boutique! Scotts sister wendy has a big farm like shed that they put electricity in to and we will be opening it up several times a year(mostly around changing seasons). We decided to test the boutique-ing waters and be part of a large boutique(like "holy cow" or "blue goose") with lots of different vendors just to see if we had what it takes.
Scotts sisters have been going to various garage and estate sales to find antique furniture and items that they can paint, re-upholster, or add their personal touch to. They both have a real talent for making someones junk into anothers home decor!! I have been working on some unique jewelry and have had fun making wooden signs with vinyl lettering that are hung with ribbon.

I was able to fly up for the big show and though it was freezing cold (yeah...it was all outside!) We had a blast staying up late getting ready. The show was two days and I am sad to inform that my jewelry didn't sell like I thought it would, but the wooden signs I made sold out in the first 30 minutes of the show!! Overall we did about $3,000 which I don't think is bad for first timers. I can't believe what some ribbon and mum s can do for an old galvanized bucket, or how a coat of red paint and stain can liven on old end table...people were buying it all up as fast as we could put it out. We learned alot and we are already busy getting ready for our grand opening in a month!

Oh the simple wonders...

Having a one year old has opened my eyes into a more simple world. It is so fascinating to me to watch jack discover little things and get the most joy out of really nothing. His favorite thing to do lately is take a bath. It is wonderful for me to just sit there and watch while his adventures are confined to a porcelain play pen. he is so fascinated at how the water falls and splashes and how the bottom of the tub is so slippery. All he needs to keep him fully entertained is a comb and measuring cup!! He will play until the water is cold and his lips are purple if I let him.

I join the blogger world!!

Well I have finally decided to join the 21st century and create a blog. Jackson is growing up much too fast and since I'm sure I will never get any where near my moms scrapbook room to document our little family, I figure this would be the next best thing!! Scott and I both have crazy lives right now,(probably like the rest of the world) so hopefully this will be a good way to keep in touch with people.
