I ran the race, and survived! It was my first one and honestly, it wasn't too bad. I wasn't able to keep my goal of running under 10 minute miles...But I did keep a pace of 10 min. 15 sec. per mile. I have always run on a treadmill and didn't take into account what those blasted hills would do to me outside. oh well, live and learn, right?!
As nerdy or ridiculous as this my sound, I loved the energy in the atmosphere during the race. It was exhilarating to have people sitting on the side lines cheering you on. At the finish line there were hundreds of people clapping and screaming for each person coming in. It didn't matter if you were the guy in first place, two ladies that walked and came in last, or me, the girl smack in the middle...we all got the same energetic reception. it was wonderful.
I was hoping to post a really great picture of me looking my absolute best, but unfortunately not one of us remembered to bring cameras...but don't worry, the city they took some photos while we were running and as soon as they are posted I promise I will put it, no matter how terrifying it might be!
oh, and I thought I should mention, my two lightening fast sister in laws ran the half and both kept paces under 9 minutes for all 13 miles. You guys rock.

Congratulations! Those runs are fun because there is so much adrenaline! If it were me I would probably cry at the finish line because everyone was cheering for me. But I am a nerd, and a crybaby.
I am so impressed! What an awesome accomplishment. We can't wait to see you, too! Maybe we should take a girls night while your home. I'm sure that Paul, Scotty and your dad wouldn't mind watching the kido's for a couple of hours. :)
That is amazing. Seriously. I don't think I could run around the block in under 10! I'm really not joking!
JILLY! Awesome! You're better than me... see? You really DID like to exercise all this time. Your body just didn't know it:) Paul and I are thinking about a trip up your way in early AUgust... what would you think?
Holy Cow Jill! That is so awesome! What a neat thing to do! congrats on finishing and with a good time too!

Congratulations! I agree with you, all the energy at the race is awesome. That's mostly what keeps me going back for more. =)
GOOD JOB!
Jill you are so awesome!! It sounded like so much fun!! Well, as fun as running can be! But I imagine the adrenaline rush from the crowd is awesome!!
I agree with all the comments. Congrats on the race you are officially my hero! I am with Kristy on running the block.
That is awesome Jillers. I am glad that you had cheerleaders and that you did so well.
You are the woman. I signed up for a 5K and didn't train at all--sad, sad day. But at least I did it, right?
I'm impressed!! Good job. Maybe daily running wouldn't seem so bad if there were people standing beside us cheering us on... something to consider!
Jill I am completely impressed!! It sounds like such fun... hopefully someday I will be so motivated!
Congrats for finishing the race! You are amazing! Go you!
