The big half-marathon is this weekend. You know, the one I have been training for for the last five months. I regret to inform you all that I am graciously bowing out of the run and demoting myself to the 10K. I don't really want paramedics scooping me up off of the ground around mile 7...and trust me, they would be. The 10K shouldn't be too bad, I am going to try and keep it under 10 minutes per mile. My two power-runner sister in laws are going for the half, and they are going to destroy it...man those chicks are amazing.
An update, and maybe even a sweat drenched, red faced picture to come!
p.s. I am not all disappointed in myself for not being ready for the half...all things in due time!

I think running a 10K is an amazing feat! You go girl!
Definitely don't worry about toning it down a little, I am super impressed you're doing a 10k!! Good luck, that's amazing!
It's awesome that you are even doing any running, I have NEVER even done a 5k. Good job Jill, I'm way proud of you! Can't wait for the red faced pics, you'll look adorable!
Way to go Jill! I couldn't run a 10k for the life of me! I don't think anyone is thinking any less of you for only running a 10k. I'm excited for pictures :)
I think just running a 10K is awesome - I don' knwo if I could run a mile right now... Bravo!
You are going to run under 10 min miles the whole way? No wonder you say you can't run more than 5 miles! I run like 12 miles when I go that far. The only way I can run long distance is if I slow way down. That's impressive Jill, you're in better shape than you think you are!
You can do it! I don't do any 10k or 5ks. I am not a huge fan of running outside so, hats off to you.
The 10K is still a big race!! I'm excited to see pictures. Good job!
Jill your the bomb!
Can I just tell you that I ran to my mail box the other day that is like 20 yards away, and my butt was jiggling all over the place and I was panting that I just sprinted a mile.
Im very impressed and I cant wait for an update.
haha you're so funny! you shouldn't be disappointed. running is supposed to be fun not miserable. I have been thinking of signing up or a half but I am too scared!
I agree with all of thee above. Jonny and I always quote Olivia from the Cosby show when she said, "I KNOW my body!" And so do you! Good luck on the run - you'll do great. Races are so fun and you've been working hard.
Oh- I believe you will be here when Em is? We will most likely be having an early shower for her. Perhaps it'll work out to be when you are here?!
