The grand opening, and a GIVEAWAY!

Ok ladies, it's here! Waddell Creek Rustics has finally gotten a shop up and running on etsy.  The items you'll find in our little store are a combination of things from my cute sister-in-law Wendy, and myself.  I do the vinyl signs and magnet boards, she keeps things a bit more prim with those darling pillows and hand painted signs.  We will be listing more items in the days and weeks to come, but we thought we'd test the waters out with some of our best sellers...those scented rosehipes? A.MAZ.ING.  Seriously, I want to eat them.

Now for the giveaway!

There's a catch here though, to enter the giveaway I want you to go visit our etsy shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/waddellcreekrustics then come back and comment with feedback.  Are our prices to high? what about the shipping? what would you like to see more of, or less of for that matter.

We need honesty people. brutal honesty.

one commenter will be selected at random and will get to choose ONE item up to a $15.00 value out our store...you can pick from what we have now, or hold your credit until we introduce more items....we have some great spring items already in the works!!

Ok gals, go take a look...the giveaway ends Tuesday, December 15th at 5 PM.

Jill, everything looks great! The pictures look good and I think your prices are very reasonable...considering if I went to our local craft store it would cost me at least that much to make any of the items myself. The only thing I thought might be a little over priced was the hanging tiles. I guess I should have clicked on it to see how big the tile was. If it's a large tile then I guess the price isn't bad, but in the picture it looks like a 4 or six inch tile. Anyway, there's my brutal honesty :) Good luck...I've considered starting an Etsy shop but I haven't decided yet if it would be worth it. Let me know how it goes.

Okay, I'm not trying to increase my chances of winning, but I just had to go back to read the description of the hanging tiles. Personally I think maybe you should change the picture...right now it is confusing (at least to my tiny brain) if it's $8 per tile, or for the whole hanging set. I'm pretty sure it's for the whole set, but I didn't see a picture of the whole set together. I'm guessing it spells out "Joy" So, I guess what I'm trying to say is if you could get the whole thing to fit into one picture I think it would be less confusing :) Otherwise everything made sense to me.

I think it all looks great and reasonably priced. I agree that the Joy picture is a bit confusing though. Also...just a thought but it seems like the ones with the light colored background may blend in to a lot of peoples wall colors. I myself prefer dark wood with light lettering to make it stand out more. Just a thought. Good luck with the shop!

Jill...Not to creep you out but I came across your blog on Savannah's and love all the stuff you have done. I would love to own all of it and you may see an order coming up in the near future! As far as your Etsy shop goes I think the selection is GREAT! The prices are wonderful for us as consumers but to be honest you could probably increase them a little bit and still be a good bargain. I didn't look at all of the items individually but the only suggestion I would offer is to show more pictures, which there might be and I just didn't look very well. GOOD LUCK! and I am sure I will be a recurring visitor!

Your shop is so cute. I personally would like to see a magnet board with some words on it that can be hung. I was a little shocked at the price of the magnet board, but I don't know how much it costs to buy the metal sheeting. One shop that I have seen customized orders but it was on quantity. I agree with Janessa on the Joy picture. I was confused too at first. It is only if you click on the picture that you get to see the whole word.

I really like the descriptions. Truly helpful!

thanks everyone! so, today I will be adding more pictures, and changing some of the pictures I already have up. I also have lots of larger magnet boards, but am worried that they would be expensive to ship...I will put them up anyway!

Also, as soon as the holidays slow down (heaven forbid I work on any more projects, I'm afraid my sweet hubby might have a coronary!!)I will be putting up an option for custom orders.

I love all that stuff! I would like to be able to custom order the hanging tiles to read any name/word I want. It would be fun to have that in my last name or something. So cute and definitely priced well. Most are much cheaper than I would get at the local boutiques.

I really want those rosehipes!

Ooooh, I just LOVE your shop! It would be a hard decision if I should get a xmas decoration to put away for next year, or wait until new stuff comes out.

My advice (and sorry if I'm repeating something, haven't read all the comments) would be to elaborate on your tags. Off the top of my head... wooden, wood, rustic, country, be merry [or whatever it says], wall hanging, etc. Try to use as many [applicable] tags as possible so people can find your gorgeous works of art via the search engine.

Also, fill out your location, shop policies, and a brief bio, just to make your shop seem a little more personable and you.

HTH!

I am a long time shopper with Waddell Creek Rustics and am SO excited you guys are opening an Etsy shop!

I think your shop is looking really great. I think your prices are generally on the low side. I would pay even a bit more (I hate to say it!).

Be sure to fill out your profile and shop policies, I won't buy from anyone who I can't 'read' up about, especially policies (shipping, returns...).

Great job so far!!!

Jill it's all darling, I'm so excited for you two! I thought all of the prices were really good, I can't make them myself for that cheap, and I definitely can't make them that cute regardless of price! I really love the hand-painted signs they were so cute!!

Hi Jill, my name is Heidi...i visit your blog now and then. I actually went to highschool with Scott (and Jodi Goerkeritz). Anyway, I LOVE all of your stuff! I would love to purchase some of your items.! Can you order the signs in different colors? The sign that says 'cherish the moments' is so sweet for a nursery...but I'd love a different color??

Holy schmoly! I love it all! Such darling stuff! I am so impressed! I have been out of town and about died when I realized I almost missed this giveaway!

ps. I think the prices are GREAT! If anything, I would say maybe a little under priced. I know it's hard to compete on Etsy though, so what do I know.....

Everything looks fabulous! Way to go, Jill!!

I like the picture with something in the background better than the ones taken on the white wall. I think they look more professional.

The prices are VERY reasonable.

Love it! I would buy a light box so your pics really look professional. Hope you're having a good day sis...

Very cute! The prices seem very reasonable, but I agree that "professional" pictures would really make everything pop.
