Travel Tips?

I am leaving for Utah in LESS than 48 hours.

I will be flying by myself with a loud two year old and a clingy one year old. Both of whom have attention spans of your average, umm, umm, toddlers.

To protect my sanity and the sanity of those next to me on the plane, I need some heavy ideas.

Anyone?...

Wish I could help but I've never even been on a plane. Good luck!

Bring lots of treats, at least with Clay it works and keeps him calm. Maybe some books, oh if you have a portable DVD player that can be a life saver especially of your place doesn't have tvs. Great investment for the future.

Good luck! Can't wait to play!

Portable DVD player...if you have one, they are great. Makes the flight seem much shorter. I also took some red vines/starburst and gave them to the kids right before take off and just as we started to descend. Keeps their ears popping so they don't hurt so much. I also bought a 'leash' as Walmart. It's a dog/bear/puppy that looks like a backpack but has a long 'tail'. They can walk but you are a hold of them. We used them at the airport and Disneyland, it was GREAT! Something for you...I prefer chocolate. =) Good luck!!

Benedryl. It's a safe, legal sedative. I'll bet they both have allergies. You'd better give them a double dose.

I DON'T KNOW WHO FISHINFAMILY IS, BUT THEY HAVE A GREAT IDEA... THAT WOULD BE MY CHOICE... SOUNDS LIKE IT WOULD BE HANDY FOR SHOPPING TOO.
I MIGHT ADD TOOTSIE POPS

If you try the portable DVD player let me know how it works with Bianca. I agree with what has already been said. . .books, treats, and video's. I might add folder games, if you have any from your babysitting kit that we made in 4H? I sure don't, did you keep any? I hope you have so much fun and that the flight is uneventful!

I second marianne, I always give it to Myles about 30 min before we fly and he sleeps the whole trip.

Most importantly, people will say mean things, just tell them to shove it! Who gives a crap about them.

Suckers! It helps with take-off and landing, plus they just think they're the best treat ever. Keep wipes handy though, it can be sticky. Lots of different snacks than they usually have., DVD player if you have one, and a few new toys to bring out when needed can be helpful. I've done the benedryl as well once, though I hate to admit it, and it worked well.

New toys, and a VERY organized bag. I prefer one with lots of pockets!

Aquadoodle is great too.

Good luck!

Oh Good luck! That sounds like it will be quite an adventure! I have of course never done it myself, but I hear stickers work wonders when kids have to be in one place for a while...who knows??? Also, Thanks so much for telling your sister Candise about us. That was totally sweet of you! You are such a sweet heart! good luck on your trip, and welcome back to Utah for a little vacation!

Don't worry, be happy! If they cry (and they will, sometimes I want to when I'm on an airplane) who cares! Everyone will live--even the prissy lady with all the mascara.

Hopefully you'll get seated next to a grandma whose grandbabies are far away--She'll love the opportunity to entertain one of your beautiful kids; trust me!

Good Luck!
