A winter wonderland...

When we moved to Washington I was worried about several things, one of them being that Christmas and winter in general just wouldn't be the same with out snow. Here, it will snow occasionally (like once a year), but will be all melted by morning. You can imagine my surprise when we woke up to this a few days ago...

Not only did it stick all day, but it kept snowing,

and snowing,

and snowing.

Currently we are covered with about 14 inches of snow and it looks like there will be no let up for about a week. Because it rarely snows here, no one ever invests in snow plows, shovels, or any snow clearing gear, which means the roads and everything else are a COMPLETE mess. All the schools have been shut down and Scotty had a short work week (and it's looking like no one will be going to work tomorrow either!)

So, it looks like I don't need to worry about having a white Christmas...but I think I got a little more than I bargained for!

note: Washington hasn't seen snow like this since 1968

P.S. did you notice the deer in the first picture?

That is funny! My BF grew up near Seattle. She said that snow will shut the place down FAST! That is crazy!

Good thing you are a Utahn and accustomed to such madness! Have fun in it!

Oh no what about Walmart?? Do I detect a little cabin fever? Find a way to get to Utah--we have all the snow but we have snowplows, ice melt, etc, so life still goes on! Miss you Springer family!! Have a Merry White Christmas.

Wow! That IS a lot of snow. We seem to be getting more than usual too. I think we'll do a lot of staying at home over the holidays.

I can understand what you mean by wanting a white christmas. Luckily we get to go home to Northern Utah and then come back to snow free Mesquite. That is unbelieveable how much snow you have. I just received a package in the mail. Thank you so much. The sign, magnets and treats were awesome.

How about that Global Warming eh? I actually read about that crazy snowfall. Trav has a cousin in Vegas who was telling EVERYONE about their TERRIBLE snow storm, so I looked it up. A whole 3.4 inches! haha, in some pictures I could see grass. Then as like a sibbit of that same MAJOR news article was the record 17 inches in Washington. I was like "what?! Vegas was on the main page on MSN, but Washington wasn't." Some things just don't make sense.
