Listen up...

Alrighty everyone, my amazing sister-in-law Heidi has written a screenplay about some of the experiences she had on her mission to Austria. With lots of help she has been able to make this into a movie and it will be released into theaters in about a month. Take a look at the trailer and spread the word!!

What do you remember about me?

My friend Emily has this on her blog and I decided to play along. I would love to hear from anyone and everyone! Don't be shy.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you!

reminisce away...

The fun is done...

Ever since Jack was about 4 months old he would suck on his last three fingers when he got tired and it would put him to sleep. Now that he is running around like crazy non-stop this is the sign we get when he has had enough fun for the day. It doesn't matter where he is at...maybe on the swings, in his high chair, or mid run- when he gets tired he stops what he is doing and those finger are in. His fingers will go into his mouth and not come out until they are exchanged for a bottle of warm milk. It's quite precious.

Tagged...

20 years ago:
-"Book of Mormon Stories" was my favorite family night song
- My friend lindsey and I had matching swimming suit (I think it was about then)
- I had tons of hair that was already down past my shoulders
- I had a tricycle that I LOVED. Unfortunately it was missing one of the back wheels which resulted in me riding around in circles...that is seriously true, no exaggeration.

- my parents were noticing that I might need glasses because I would always close one eye to focus on something...I am sure it looked pretty funny for a three year old to be walking around with one eye shut all the time.

10 years ago:

-I was 13 and was trying to figure out my style. I had bangs and flared pants...which were all the rage.

-I had just made the transition from glasses to contacts and was on top the world.

-I spent WAY too much money on vending machines...I loved the pink, frosted sugar cookies!

5 years ago:

- I had graduated High school and spent most of my time with my good friend Donovan...we were having the typical college experience...staying up way later than I ever had, going to party after party, and doing fun things like skydiving!

- I was working at Hogi-Yogi but would soon be working at the UPS store

- I dated lots of guys and decided that most college guys are lame

- I moved out for the first time and met my first room mates Mackenzie and Celena...we had so much fun together!!

- I was in school and loved every minute of it. I loved my professors and quickly learned the art of perfect brown nosing.

- I was starting to realize that my parents were actually wonderful people(I had previously believed that they gave me way too many rules and were out to ruin my social life...dumb I know) and I became closer to my mom than ever.

3 years ago:

- I was getting ready to marry the man of my dreams and my best friend Scott Springer.

- I was working at the UPS store full time to save money.

- I moved back home

- I took the semester off for obvious reasons but was only a year away from my degree.

- I Didn't know it at the time, but I would be pregnant with little jack in just a few short months.

So far this year:

- I was pregnant and had Bianca

- Little Jack has been growing like a weed

- I graduated from college with my degree in psychology

- I am still working part time at the UPS store and my bosses have been wonderful to work with my crazy schedule...even letting me bring the kids to work occasionally

Yesterday:

-I worked in the morning and came home so scott could get to class

- I went to walmart to buy groceries and diapers...poor jack had to wear a swimming diaper around due to my poor planning!

- Scotty actually had the night off (which doesn't happen often) so we had our good friends Kimmy and Spencer over and I made a wonderful summer salad with feta, chicken, pine nuts, and a delicious lemon-caper vinaigrette...yum!

- Scotty and I put the kids down early and watched Definitely, Maybe...I love the snuggle time with my man!

Today:

- I went to the gym and listened to some great music.

- I put the kids down and am enjoying some peace and quiet

- I will go to the store when the kids wake up to buy formula for bianca

- I will probably go to my parents house and make something fabulous for dinner then go home and bathe the kids

- I will try to wait up for scott but will probably fall asleep watching whatever is on TLC

Tomorrow:

- I will celebrate the 4th of July with friends and family.

- It will be the first day in a long time when scott and myself both have the entire day off....Yippee!!

In the next year:

- we will most likely be living in Washington and Scott will be an accountant while I finally get to be a stay at home mom.

- hopefully we will NOT be having another baby!

- My little brother will be serving his mission in Dallas and my parents will be empty nester's and missing their grandkids like crazy.

-If we are living in Washington I will probably be busy with Waddell Creek Rustics.

I tag Kaytie, Janessa, Jillian, lindsey, Kristy, and Emily P.

Backyard Adventures

Ever since I was little I thought my parents had the absolute best back yard. There are fruit trees, a hill to roll down, a swingset, basketball hoop, sandbox, and garden. I have fond memories of "night games", setting up obstacle courses with my friends, playing "king of bonker hill", and sitting in the shade under the apricot tree playing card games. As I became a teenager the back yard summer adventures came to a hault and were replaced with tanning on the grahams trampoline with lemon juice in our hair, movies, and boys. Jack is finally old enough to make his own "back yard adventures" and it's nice to see this back yard back in action! (although I have to say it seems much smaller than I remember) It's so entertaining to see what his little creative mind comes up with. I can always see the little wheels turning in his head as he is looking for the next place to go. He loves the hose (especially if I let a little water trickle out of it), swinging on the swings, and running....this kid LOVES to run!! I hope he will have as much fun in this backyard as I did.

oh, and as for Bianca...she is content to just chill with mom in a lawnchair and watch as jack runs around. Maybe next year her she will find some adventures of her own in Nana and Bompa's back yard!

A terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day...

If you take a second and look at the above picture you can see that jack had a pretty rough day. Let's start at the bottom...no pants. Jack had a little accident during his nap that resulted in wet pants and the removal thereof. Moving up to his knee with the band aid, the poor kid gets running so fast sometimes he can't quite stop in time. His poor knee has seen more concrete than any knee ought to. The beautiful flowered shirt was graciously provided by cousin Eliza after Jack battled with applesauce and lost. He couldn't go shirtless outside because his irresponsible mommy forgot to put sunscreen on at the pool and he was already suffering from a pretty wicked sunburn. As for his sweet, dirt covered face, I couldn't even muster a smile out of the kid that LOVES the outdoors (probably due to his burning shoulders or the embarrassment of the flower shirt...hard to tell). It's a good thing tomorrow is another day and little jack will rebound as if none of this ever happened!

p.s. Bianca had a wonderful day complete with great naps and a beautiful evening in the bumbo (thanks mel).

2 happy kids = 1 happy mom

My sweet children decided to test me tonight by being as rotten as possible while their daddy was away at work. As I was battling skinned knees, tear stained faces, and pinches (yeah, jack has picked up pinching when he gets upset. annoying) I thought "hmm, if I was 20 months old and ornery as all get out, what would make me happy?" So I started the bath tub, added some bubbles, and plopped my little angel down to play to his hearts content. All the sudden he perked up, and so did bianca(there is some law of the universe that says when one child is a pill the other must act up as well, just so you all know). The evening ended with TWO clean kids in bed at an ever so early 9 pm and ONE happy mom who aced her test. sweet.

Heart attack for dessert anyone?...

My mom got this amazing cook book for mother's day and there was a recipe in it for some chocolate mousse butter cream frosting. I knew I had to make it when I read that it had 6 sticks of butter in it. Yes, you heard me right...SIX sticks of butter. The recipe was a little time consuming but worth every one of the 5400 calories...yes, I did the math on that. Sorry mom, I probably shouldn't have added that little tidbit seeing as how I left the remainder of the cake at your house! the taste was rich but not overwhelming and seemed to melt in your mouth. Start your mouthwatering ladies...

A dancin' fool

With Jacksons new found talent of jumping and his pre-existing love for dancing and music, you can imagine the combination of the three...this is what happens when we turn on some catchy music and give him plenty of space...take a look (sorry about the video quality...darn camera phone)

Jammies, hats, and bubbles

This has been a crazy week full of all sorts of adventures at the Springer house. We got jack these new jammies since the weather has been warming up. They even come with a little cape...adorable.
I couldn't resist putting this little sun hat on sweet Bianca when we went to the park, she wasn't so happy about the idea but the blogger in me couldn't stand not to have a picture.

Jack is mezmerized by bubbles so any chance we get we are out on the lawn popping away. It has been pretty cold and rainy this week but jack has to get out for his (and my) sanity. This bubble blowing escapade took place after a rainstorm...notice the soaking jeans and red cheeks...nothing can stop little Jack!

A little boy and his watering can...

Jack has found this watering can at my parents house and carries it around with him everywhere he goes! I mean yeah, I understand a blanket or a teddy bear, but a watering can?!? It's like he's got a puppy on a leash or something. Pretty cute though.

He's looking at like "come on, keep up will ya!"
